Go Daddy Review
Disclosure: We are a professional and independent review site that receives coupons, discounts and compensation from the companies that we review. This doesn't influence our reviews by any means.
In addition of being the biggest domain registrar, Go Daddy is also the top web host in the world. Go Daddy has raised a lot of controversy among the online community and this is why we have decided to write this Go Daddy review in the first place.
Go Daddy provides a range of web hosting plans, including shared, VPS and dedicated hosting. Go Daddy offers Linux, windows and even Mac-powered cloud hosting.
For the purpose of this review, we will review Go Daddy 4GH hosting Linux based deluxe plan. We have chosen this plan because it provides unlimited domains hosting. The plan supports PHP4 or PHP5, Perl, Python, Ruby and Ruby on Rails. The plan offers 150GB of disk space with unlimited data bandwidth, unlimited websites, 25 1GB MySQL databases, 500 email accounts with 500MB of storage and over 200$ in Google, Facebook and MySpace advertising credit. In addition, a huge selection of scripts comes preinstalled to meet the user requirements. The scripts include WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Mambo, MODx, Moodle, phpBB, MediaWiki, 4images, Xoops and many others.
Go Daddy's next generation 4GH Hosting means hosting your website across multiple servers which means that your website will stay up even if the server crashes. The service is similar to cloud hosting services offered elsewhere. What make Go Daddy's service unique are the affordable price and the ease of use of their service.
The Deluxe plan is offered for $7.99/month. Annual Discounts are available on 12 months ($6.99/month), 24 months ($5.99/month) and 36 months ($4.99/month) registrations. The minimum contract for this plan is 1 month.
Go Daddy usually offers the domain registered with a new web hosting at a price of $1.99 year.
Please keep in mind, that Go Daddy offers a range of services during the ordering process, therefore you need to add only the services that you need to your shopping cart.
Go Daddy has a well-organized and huge knowledge base on their website through which one can find the answers for most of his questions. However, if you ever need to contact the support, you can either contact them through phone or email.
The phone support is available 24/7. You can usually expect to receive an answer within a couple of minutes. The draw-back of Go Daddy phone support is the fact that it isn’t toll free.
The email support is quick as well. You can usually expect a response with 24 hours.
We have asked the support about the name servers that we need to point one of the domains registered externally to so we can host it on Go Daddy. We received the correct reply in less than 24 hours.
Go Daddy Control Panel is custom built and offers full control over everything the plans offer. The control panel may appear to be a little complicated at the beginning, but you can gradually feel the power it provides over time.
From the hosting dashboard, one can easily control the settings, content, databases and view the statistics. From here, you can manage the FTP users, upload site content, set up the databases, view disk space usage, view your error log, set site redirects, manage your domains and DNS, and even install your favorite applications in seconds.
We have noticed that the control panel is a bit slow compared to other control panels such as cPanel. In addition, cPanel is easier to use.
We have some of our websites set up with Go Daddy and we can safely say that we are satisfied with the websites loading time, support, price and features.
The addition of live chat support service and improving the control panel loading time would make our experience with Go Daddy nothing but perfect.
